Joss Whedon to save the (Marvel) Universe

The buzz is Joss Whedon is in final talks to direct the AVENGERS movie. This is the big Marvel superhero team. This is the big movie that the other Marvel superhero movies -- IRON MAN 1-2-3, THOR, CAPTAIN AMERICA -- are all leading up. It'll probably have NICK FURY and SCARLET WITCH. No word on the storyline. My fav Avengers storyline of all time is the KOVAC SAGA (I think that's what it's called), but anything with the KREE-SKRULL war would be awesome too. I think their take is closer to the Ultimate Marvel Universe, so it's more likely that it will be something from ULTIMATES.

After the disaster in waiting that will be CAPTAIN AMERICA with "can't tell a story but can have lame action scenes" director Joe Johnson and "I don't have the leadership of Farmer Ted" Chris Evans playing Captain America, getting Joss, who not only brough to life Buffy the Vampire Slayer but also wrote a great run on Astonishing X-Men, is just about the only thing that would have given me confidence in this movie (aside from Favreau).

Thank you Marvel for getting this right. And thank you Joss. I'll be one of your screaming fans at Comic Con!
