Bobby Hurley to coach in college (but not at Duke)

Bobby Hurley's brother, Dan Hurley, was recently hired as the head coach at Wagner. It was unusual because Dan Hurley had never coached college before, only high school. Now he has hired Bobby as his assistant. It's what's commonly referred to as a no brainer. I mean, Bobby is one of the best point guards to ever play in college. He led Duke to three national championship games and two national titles. He set (and still has) the NCAA record for assists. And as good as that makes him sound, if you watched him he was even better. As a freshmen he shredded Arkansas's "40 minutes of hell" defense. He hit key shots against UNLV in '91 to help Duke win. He almost singlehandedly kept Duke in the Final Four in '92 while Laettner was having the worst two games of his career. As a pro he had great early numbers, but a horrible car accident cut his pro career short. He was not the most vocal leader as a player, but what he has to offer as a coach is immense. Best of luck to the Hurley's and Wagner! (And how much do you want to bet this is a tune up before he comes over to the Duke staff? Coach K does love his point guards!)
